Rookie of the Year

I wasn’t always a Georgia Bulldog. Yes, it sounds as horrible as it is. For my freshman and half of sophomore year in college, I attended Georgia State University. My life changed for the better when I moved to Athens, and I couldn’t imagine finishing out my college years in any other place, at any other university.

Since I’ve moved here I’ve learned there’s one thing I wasn’t nearly prepared for; Georgia football. I wasn’t prepared for “It’s Saturday in Athens” and the sheer amount of fans coming through to watch the games. I wasn’t prepared for tailgates decorating the entirety of the town, and how damn early these people are up. Though, the one aspect I was somewhat prepared for about Georgia football, was the drinking. A cup of beer and a football game go hand in hand, literally. 😉

Wow that was a bad.

Since I’ve attended the University of Georgia, I have never seen the inside of the stadium, never even been to a game. I unfortunately signed my soul away to bar tending and have worked every game since I’ve been here. I know, hearing that hurts almost as much as  it does to hear I wasn’t always a dawg.

But that’s all about to change, as my 22nd birthday just so happens to land on the Alabama vs. UGA game. This game will be my first UGA game ever, and I couldn’t be more excited. As I sit here and try to imagine what it’s going to be like, the one thing I am most eager to see is all of those fans in one place, at one time. The magnitude of the crowd’s cheers in unison. So naturally, I looked up “crazy american football fans” to get a taste, and woah…

And WOAH!

I even went on to read a breakdown of football’s rowdiest fan bases. These people really do love football.

Now I realized I got a little ahead of myself, these teams are all NFL teams, it couldn’t be the same for college football fans, right?

Wrong! All I type in is “crazy UGA football fans” and this video is the first thing that pops up. I then scroll over to the “images” tab and I’m not surprised to find…

I immediately say to myself, “I want to meet these guys.”

So then I get to thinking… well sh*t! Should I be going all out? But what would I wear? Or should I keep it simple and put a wash off tattoo on my face? To get some inspiration I wanted to research how to go “all out”, but still keep it a little bit fabulous. This is the best I could come up with…

Wrong team obviously, but you get the idea. Yay or Nay? Thinkin’ nay.

Now I’m stuck with this dilemma of how to do not only my first football game ever, but my first UGA football game at that. I guess we’ll have to see how daring I’m feeling when I wake up that Saturday morning, or how many drinks it takes me to get there. Though the one thing I do know is, I want to represent my dawgs through and through and bleed that red and black.

GO DAWGS!
